Raphaël Schoentgen is a private entrepreneur and investor whose passions and expertise are technologies, energy, climate change, international business and international policy. In 2018 he created Hydrogen Advisors, a consultancy firm active both in the private sector - energy / transport / industry / investors - as well as in the public sector - international bodies / national governments / cities councils / financial bodies. End 2019 he co-founded Hydrogen Capital Partners to provide growth capital to companies in the hydrogen economy. As former President of Hydrogen Europe, CTO of ENGIE and former personal advisor to a G8 minister of energy and industry, he wishes to advocate the development of this new green energy vector that he calls "a revolution" and help his clients get rapidly the “helicopter view” they need on the topic. He builds on his personal network and own varied past experiences in 7 countries, with permanent interactions with high level leaders, both as a civil servant and a business man, and on issues of regulation, finance, regional development, technologies, infrastructures and industrial development. Raphael holds and has held several board positions including Member of the Board of the French National Petroleum and New Energies Institute (IFPEN) since 2014, Chairman of the Board of the European Fund for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells -FCHJU (2015-2017), Member of the Board of ENGIE New Venture (2014-2017) and Member of the Advisory Board of the European Trade Chamber in China (2008-2014), as well as President of its energy working group. In 2011 Raphaël was nominated as a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum, in 2012 as a Young Leader of the France China Foundation, and in 2014 as a Young Leader of the World Cities Summit. Raphaël holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration and a Civil Engineering Degree from Mines Paritech Institute (Ecole des Mines de Paris) and is a Member of the French elite engineering program "Corps des Mines". He is also an alumni of Harvard Kennedy School Executive Program.
