As cardiovascular health continues to be a global priority, the urgent need for countries to develop and implement comprehensive cardiovascular disease (CVD) action plans becomes paramount. But what are the essential components of a robust CVD action plan, and how can these targets be effectively integrated into a broader non-communicable disease (NCD) strategy while still keeping CVD at the forefront? Moreover, once a plan is in place, how can we ensure its successful implementation? Despite the commitments made at previous UN High-Level meetings on NCDs, strong policies often falter when it comes to execution. This session will address these critical questions, offering insights and strategies to ensure that CVD action plans not only exist on paper but are effectively implemented to make a tangible impact on CVD outcomes.
