Jenny Buccos is a multi-award-winning director and producer, founder and CEO
of EXPLR, and an advocate for global citizenship.
In 2003, before the existence of YouTube, Jenny founded ProjectExplorer, a free
multimedia website designed to educate K-12 students about global issues and
cultures. Over the last 21 years, she has directed and produced over 500
educational videos, working with world leaders and organizations including
UNRWA, the Apartheid Museum, and Girl Rising.
In 2024, she served as co-director of the first-ever National STEM Festival in
partnership with the U.S. Department of Education. Under her leadership, this
event brought together a community of over 1,000 student-serving organizations,
31 corporate and philanthropic sponsors, and 18 federal agencies. It became one
of the largest and most geographically diverse STEM events in U.S. history.
Buccos has been a guest on numerous media outlets, including ABC, BBC, CBS,
MSNBC, NBC, Fast Company, NPR, Fox Business, and Al Jazeera, discussing
topics related to EdTech innovation, digital equity, STEM, and workforce
readiness. She has spoken at the White House, the U.S. Department of State
Diplomacy Center, the European SDG Roundtable, Talks at Google, and The
Institute of International Education.
