Description

USA for IOM, in partnership with IOM and Millicom leadership, will be hosting a conversation surrounding migration and its socio-economic implications in an increasingly digitized world, exclusively featuring IOM’s incoming Director General Amy E. Pope, the first female leader of the International Organization for Migration, and Mauricio Ramos, CEO of Millicom.

Both philanthropic partners and the private sector are indispensable partners to IOM, offering unique skills, knowledge, expertise, and resources for tackling today’s pressing humanitarian and development challenges. Under Ramos’s leadership, Millicom solidified its company purpose “to build the digital highways that connect people, improve lives, and develop communities.” This ethos can be applied to future partnerships as IOM's collaboration with Millicom is the perfect opportunity to highlight the critical alliance between the private sector and IOM in creating results-based programming to benefit the lives of migrants and the communities in which they ultimately settle. Through digital inclusion training, corporate mentoring, and cash-based interventions (CBI), IOM and Millicom are giving migrants and host communities the necessary tools to flourish socioeconomically in the 21st-century business landscape.

USA for IOM is a 2023 Concordia Annual Summit Patron Programming Partner.
