For decades there have been harmful stigmas around the topic of mental health as well as many of the different approaches recommended to address these issues. The innovation of psychedelic-assisted therapy is one possible treatment option that has been impacted by these negative assumptions surrounding mental health. However, as more information is revealed through recent phase 3 MDMA trials from MAPS, the work being done in Federal Policy by Reason For Hope, and The Veteran’s Mental Health Leadership Coalition, along with the future of Psychedelic funding with TREAT California, these stigmas are slowly being reversed. Thanks to research, funding, and more bipartisan support –psychedelics are quickly becoming not only accepted, but more and more praised for their impacts on mental health.
