Ishrat Jahan has over 15 years of leadership experience and a passion to elevate and empower marginalized women. At Nomi Network, Ishrat serves as the Director of International Programs leading Nomi Network’s Workforce Development Program in India and Cambodia and the Adolescent Girls Empowerment Program across India moving forward the mission to end human trafficking by creating pathways to safe employment, empowering women and girls to break cycles of exploitation in their families and communities. Prior to joining Nomi Network, Ishrat provided professional leadership, training, operational success, strategic solutions, and program management expertise to the U.S. Department of State, foreign governments, and U.S. embassies across South and Central Asia. Through her travel and work abroad, Ishrat developed personal and professional projects to service to those with limited resources and access. She collaborated with the U.S. Department of State to create a program supporting talented youth from vulnerable communities in South Asia to access higher education locally and abroad. Ishrat is a founding dance director and current board member of an arts and entertainment company focused on community and social service in New York. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from Rutgers University. Ishrat currently resides in New York City rediscovering life in the U.S. after a decade of living abroad.
