Speaker Bio
and the continent of Africa. She draws inspiration from her father with whom she shares a passion for social change and innovation.

Her interest to drive change only grew after her time as a Junior Ambassador in 2017. She began her journey learning about the impacts of climate change and health. Her class performed extensive research on environmental racism and its links to young Bronx residents that suffer with asthma. Since then, she gained a plethora of hands-on experience working with the United Nations and lead on several initiatives with the Mayor’s Office for International Affairs. Fatoumata continues to be a mentor for other Junior Ambassadors following her footsteps by emphasizing the need to give back to communities. (She has led on projects localizing the Sustainable Development Goals, distributing care baskets for the homeless and participating in climate related campaigns at the UN such as World Oceans’ Day.)

When she is not in “ambassador” mode, Fatoumata enjoys to spend my time with friends and going out to experience new things. She values family and has loves to spend time with her siblings, creating wholesome memories to hold for a lifetime.
