Edgar Rodríguez joined TikTok in February of 2021 as Public Policy Director for Mexico, later becoming the Public Policy Director for Spanish-speaking Latin America.
Prior to TikTok, he served as Public Policy Director for Amazon Mexico between February 2016 and November 2020.
He worked for five years in the telecommunications sector, where he served as Director of Institutional Relations at Nextel Mexico, and retained that position when the company was acquired by AT&T.
He has held various positions in the Mexican federal government: at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he served as Director of Congressional Liaison; Advisor to the Undersecretary for North America; and Chief of Staff to the Undersecretary for Latin America and the Caribbean. At the Ministry of the Interior, he was in charge of the Federal Liaison Unit.
He holds a BA in International Relations from the Tecnológico de Monterrey and a MA in Political Philosophy from University College London, University of London.
