Karina is a senior energy executive focused on building bankable, integrated energy platforms across high-growth and emerging markets. KAYA Energy and TRE are part of Forward Power Partners, an integrated energy platform designed to deliver resilient, vertically integrated energy solutions. The group includes Tropical Battery, a publicly traded battery leader with over 75 years of operating history in the region, and Rose Batteries, a 50-year battery engineering firm based in Silicon Valley serving mission-critical clients including NASA, NOAA, and the U.S. government. Together, the platform combines EPC execution, advanced battery engineering, industrial-scale reliability, and regional market leadership to support long-term energy security and infrastructure resilience.
Karina is the former founding president of ASOFER, the Dominican Republic’s renewable energy association, where she played a central role in organizing the sector, shaping industry standards, and contributing to clean-energy policy and legislative frameworks.
She holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Political Development from Columbia University and an MBA from Pace University in New York City. She has worked and lived in the United Arab Emirates, Canada, New York, and Uganda, bringing a global operating perspective shaped by cross-border business and emerging-market complexity. Before entering the energy sector, she was part of the founding leadership team that built and scaled a technology company from inception to IPO, developing the capital-markets rigor and execution discipline that underpin her leadership within publicly traded energy platforms today.
