Cristina Barrera is a professional with more than 15 years of
experience in international development, where she has
promoted the rights of children and people with disabilities. She
has led advocacy processes, building alliances with
governments and civil society organizations, as well as
programs with high impact in vulnerable communities.
As Regional Director for the Americas at ChildFund
International, Cristina provides strategic leadership and
oversight of operations in the countries across the Americas
where ChildFund is present, including Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador,
Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico. She is a member of
ChildFund’s Global Leadership Team, where she contributes to
global initiatives and drives operational effectiveness and part
of the EVAC Committee at ChildFund Alliance.
Before assuming this role, she served as Country Director of
ChildFund in Ecuador. Previously, she worked at CBM, where
she was responsible for strategic and operational planning in
Ecuador, Colombia, Paraguay, and Cuba.
Cristina holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Project Management and a
postgraduate degree in Digital Transformation
