Mark Lawson is the President of the Cary Chamber of Commerce and leads the second largest Chamber of Commerce in Wake County. In Mark’s role, he and his team support the local business community in Cary, while helping grow and strengthen the local economy, and facilitate programs and events that contribute to the overall quality of life in Cary. Under Mark’s leadership and direction, the Chamber has (4) divisions, Economic Development, Education, Member Business Services, and Government Relations.

Mark previously served as the Senior Vice president of Economic Development for the Cary Chamber of Commerce.

Mark is a graduate of the University of Mount Olive and was captain on the men’s tennis team. Mark’s community involvement has included serving as a Member of the Cary Rotary Club, Advisory Board Member of the Taylor YMCA, the Morrisville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, along with the Cary Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Mark was also part of the inaugural class of the Triangle Business Journal’s “Peak 25 “program comprised of local CEOs, Presidents, and Executive directors in the Triangle region.

He and his wife Ellen have lived in Cary for over 26 years, and they have three children.

When Mark is not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing tennis.
