Felicia Marie Knaul is the Director of both the Institute for Advanced Study of the Americas and Office of Hemispheric and Global Affairs and Full Professor at the Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami. She is Founding President of Tómatelo a Pecho A.C., a Mexican NGO dedicated to promoting women’s health and equity. Currently, Dr. Knaul serves as Co-Chair of the Lancet Commission on Cancer And Health Systems and the Lancet Commission on Gender-based Violence and Maltreatment of Young People, and previously chaired the Lancet Commission on Global Access to Palliative Care and Pain Relief. Her advocacy and research focus on health system strengthening, equity, and poverty alleviation and has produced over 300 academic and policy publications.

Dr. Knaul earned her MA and PhD in economics from Harvard University. She holds a BA in international development from the University of Toronto.
