Description

Europe is amidst a geopolitical juncture that has had unprecedented effects on the region's energy landscape - presenting consumers with the highest energy prices on record and showing the world the value of a stable energy supply. But it has also opened an opportunity to drive Europe toward the renewable energy transition. From producing alternative fuels for mobility, such as the increasing use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel by various airlines, to efforts to ‘green’ the emerging hydrogen economy using nuclear energy in its production and bolstering renewable energy projects including wind and solar. This session will convene industry leaders in the search for innovative sustainable energy solutions. What technological, safety, and policy-related challenges remain in the shift to commercial-scale nuclear-produced hydrogen? Are EU investment guidelines preventing or stimulating the growth of the renewable energy economy, and how can we lower their cost of production? What will be this geopolitical moment's effect on Europe's fossil fuel use?
