Cristina's expertise spans science diplomacy, public affairs, multilateral agreements, urban planning and innovation for sustainability.

Today, she leads the global agenda on Net-Zero Nature-Positive Cities at the World Economic Forum. Before joining the Forum, she was special advisor to the Executive Director of the Alexander von Humboldt Institute – the Colombian Institute for Biodiversity, from where she designed and advanced the global positioning of the BiodiverCities by 2030 initiative, entrusted by the executive office of the President of Colombia.

In previous years she worked with public, private and non-governmental organizations, leading the establishment of new protected areas for biodiversity in Latin America; implementing tech-enabled strategies to track global commodity-driven deforestation; facilitating agreements between indigenous communities, public and private sectors; and convening national and international forums to discuss the ecological challenges of economic growth.

Her academic credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, a Masters' degree in Conservation and Rural Development and specializations in Science Diplomacy and Sustainable Finance.
