Mr Haulofu started his career as a Civil Engineer at Namibia Water Corporation Ltd
(NamWater) since 1993 where he worked in various managerial positions in the civil
engineering field. His main responsibilities were the designing, planning, construction
and civil assets on various projects and schemes.
In 1998, he was employed by Namibia Power Corporation (Pty) Ltd (NamPower) for 24
years. He was appointed as the Managing Director of NamPower in 2016, whose core
business is the generation, transmission and energy trading, the latter of which takes
place within the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP), the largest multilateral energy
platform on the African continent.
Mr Haulofu served on the following Boards in his career:
▪ Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Central North Regional Electricity
Distributor Co. Pty Ltd (CENORED);
▪ Chairperson of the Western Power Corridor Company (WESTCOR ( Pty) Ltd)
Board of Directors. WESTCOR, owned by 5 SADC countries as a NEPAD
sanctioned Project to develop the Grand Inga Hydropower plant in the DRC Congo
with Headquarters based in Gaborone, Botswana;
▪ Chairperson of the Baynes Hydropower Plant Project committee of the
Permanent Joint Technical Commission (PJTC) between Angola and Namibia to
develop the 600MW Baynes Hydro Power Scheme on the lower Kunene River;
▪ EXCO member for the Public Enterprises CEO forum.
▪ Chairperson of the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP), Executive Committee
from May 2020;
▪ Director at the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI).
