Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON is the First Lady, Federal Republic of Nigeria and the first woman to be elected to the Nigerian Senate for three consecutive terms. She is an educationist, administrator, philanthropist, Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) and Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON). She represented Lagos Central Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Her exemplary life, humanitarian nature and her passion for service to the people have prepared her for the leadership roles she had occupied before now and the one which she gracefully occupies presently.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON is noted for her devotion to creating a record of service that will serve as a road map for the youth aspiring to leadership positions in Nigeria and Africa.
As a Senator, she hosted a quarterly Town Hall Meeting with her constituents, to render accounts of her stewardship and obtain feedback on their developmental needs. As part of her service and to empower her constituents, she introduced several schemes such as:
• Post Secondary School Scholarship Scheme
• Petty Traders’ Empowerment Capital Scheme (PETECS)
• Elderly Citizen Assistance Scheme (ECAS) an annual event
• Widows’ Economic Empowerment Scheme (WEES)
• Youth Empowerment and Skills Acquisition Scheme (YESAS).
• Muniru Muse U12 boys and U15 girls’ football competition.
In her bid to give back to the society, she initiated several non-governmental organisations including:
• The New Era Foundation, a non-profit organisation founded in 2000, dedicated to youth development, girl-child education, women empowerment and inspiring young person’s to excellence. The foundation birthed the annual Lagos State Spelling Bee Competition which produces the ‘One day Governor”.
• Alternative High School for girls who dropped out of school which was introduced to the Lagos State Government and subsists.
• Annual Musical Youth Fiesta Initiative (MYFI) which commenced in 2011 and birthed the Leadership Academy for Girls, a mentorship class spanning 12 months, for 20 girls between ages 12 – 18.
• Donation of Oluremi Tinubu Elementary and Junior High School, Johnsonville, Mount Serrador County, Liberia as her contribution to the re-building process of post-civil war Liberia
She belongs to several organisations within and outside Nigeria, including:
• Member of the Olave Baden Powell Society (OBPS), having served meritoriously as a Director for five (5) years.
• Honorary Associate of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS)
• Member, Ikoyi Lions Club, District 404A.

Recognition:
• National Honour of the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).
• National Honour of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).
• In appreciation of her contributions as a worthy role model, the AFAO/WAWA (Association Des Femmes De L’Afrique Del L’Ouest / West African Women Association) named the Oluremi Tinubu Women Training Centre in GOROM, Senegal after her.
• Fellowship of the Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo State, and very many others.
She is happily married to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and they are blessed with lovely children and grandchildren.
