Chris joined Octopus Energy as the Group Director for International Affairs in January 2025 to further Octopus' global business development. Founded in 2016, Octopus Energy Group is now the UK’s largest energy supplier and offers low carbon services to households, it retails in eight countries and active through its technology and generation businesses in over thirty countries.
For the previous four years Chris was H.M. King Charles' (and previously The former Prince of Wales') Deputy Private Secretary and diplomatic advisor. Chris joined the F.C.D.O. in 2007 and has had overseas postings to UK Diplomatic Missions to India, Afghanistan and the E.U.. In the UK, Chris has had roles working on the Middle East Peace Process, press, Iran, and Daesh, and in the UK's National Security Secretariat he was a Senior Advisor on the Middle East and Principal Private Secretary to the National Security Advisor. He is a Trustee of the Refugee Employment Network and member of the King Charles Commonwealth Fellowship Programme’s Steering Committee.
