For over 160 years, the Medal of Honor, The United States’ highest decoration for valor in combat, has been awarded to individuals whose exceptional acts of valor have demonstrated leadership above and beyond the call of duty and have significantly contributed to the cause of peace and freedom around the world. The profound values the Medal of Honor represents —courage, integrity, and commitment to others — are merits intrinsic to human nature. They are values not confined to any country or individual. This session will delve into how focusing on these shared values can inspire and guide us toward greater unity, cooperations, and understanding. What lessons can be drawn from the experiences of Medal of Honor recipients and their counterparts from nations around the world? How can their examples inform and elevate contemporary leadership practices? How can the universal values embodied by these heroes be leveraged to build a more collaborative global community, contributing to achieving lasting peace and mutual respect among nations?
