The world has experienced significant productivity growth over the past 25 years, with the median country productivity increasing six-fold, especially in emerging economies. However, Latin American economies have lagged behind in terms of productivity growth, particularly after the global financial crisis and pandemic. Given that productivity is essential for economic growth and social progress, the region cannot afford to lose another quarter century of convergence. The coming decades are expected to bring profound changes globally and regionally, presenting new opportunities for Latin America. What might be new answers if past approaches failed?
