Born in Southern California and raised in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Sophia Corona, Class of 2027, is an international affairs major with a terrorism studies minor at West Point. Sophia is a fellow in West Point’s Sea to Shining Sea Fellowship – a cohort of students that listen, learn, discuss, and debate questions in diplomacy, business, and politics through in-semester field studies. She is passionate about strategic relations between the U.S. and Russia, developing these interests as a member of the West Point International Affairs Forum, as well as in her research on NATO deterrence against Russian missiles. As part of this research, she worked with the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory. Beyond academics, Sophia rows as a member of the crew team. She was awarded the Dean's Award and the Superintendent's Award for Achievement, placing in the top 15% of students.
